WISCONSIN: Andrew Breitbart Tells Pro-Union Protesters To "Go To Hell"

As he prepared to introduce Sarah Palin over the boos of Wisconsin's pro-union protesters, wingnut blogger and GOProud backer Andrew Breitbart told labor supporters, "Go to hell!" Because "class warfare" (which, hello, is what the Tea Party stands for) is "un-American." Raw Story has a much better clip (non-embeddable) taken from the rear of the crowd.

Andrew Breitbart Sued By Shirley Sherrod

Conservative website mogul and GOProud backer Andrew Breitbart is being sued by former USDA official Shirley Sherrod for his campaign to falsely discredit her. Via Salon:
The suit stems from the notorious video Breitbart posted online last year, showing an out-of-context excerpt from a speech Sherrod gave to the NAACP Freedom Fund in March 2010. The clip suggested she had used her position at the Department of Agriculture to discriminate against white farmers. The media devoured the Breitbart's version of story so voraciously that the NAACP denounced Sherrod and the Obama administration fired her. The charge was, in fact, entirely untrue. Sherrod argues in the lawsuit that the clip "damaged her reputation and prevented her from continuing her work." Breitbart, meanwhile, denounced the suit, saying he "categorically rejects the transparent effort to chill his constitutionally protected free speech."
Breitbart has issued a press release declaring that he is "absolutely confident of being fully vindicated."

Hawkins Rep: She Wants To Build Bridges

Matthew Rettenmund at Boy Culture is an avid fan of Sophie B. Hawkins so he wrote to her management asking about the singer's coming performance at GOProud's CPAC party. Hawkins' rep responded:
"She is not supporting their beliefs but trying to build a bridge so we can all talk and be humans over party. They invited her to play for free. She said she would, if they recognized she is an artist and is going as an artist not taking sides, but being open for them to enjoy her music as humans. This is very risky for Sophie, she knows it, but she is trying to say lets all reach out our hands and try to find understanding. She is so tired of the hate and I think thought love and music and art could build a bridge. I hope you remain a fan. She is really trying to do something good in the world and I am sure she will address this soon."
Rettenmund: "This is not me saying, 'Ew! Don't play for Republicans!' but me asking why, if she feels the need to build a bridge, she would decide to build the bridge to the furthest point away on the other side, to a group whose leader thinks gay activists are literally worse than terrorists, to a group that pays hate-spewing Ann Coulter (while Sophie plays for free)?"

Sophie B. Hawkins To Headline GOProud/Breitbart Party At CPAC

Andrew Breitbart's promised "Super Gay 80s CPAC Party" for GOProud will actually be headlined by openly bisexual 90s two-hit wonder Sophie B. Hawkins. (Depeche Mode and New Order must have been unavailable.) Hawkins is best known for her 1992 hit Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover, an appropriate metaphor for all that begging GOProud makes for Tea Party love. Via press release:
“The Big Party will celebrate GOProud and the growth of a conservative movement that is focused on getting the government out of people’s lives,” said Jimmy LaSalvia, Executive Director of GOProud. “We are thrilled to have Andrew Breitbart join us in putting together what will be the party of the CPAC weekend.” “This party will highlight the story the main stream media has missed in the weeks leading up to CPAC, namely that the vast majority of the conservative movement is united and welcomes GOProud and any other conservative into the fold,” said Andrew Breitbart, a member of GOProud’s Advisory Council. “The truth is that it is liberals in America who are bent on dividing people, on forcing people into ideological boxes based merely on their race, religion, sex or sexual orientation.”
Adding to the oddity of Hawkins' CPAC selection is that she was an ardent supporter of Hillary Clinton, even to the point of rerecording her above-cited trademark hit in support of Clinton's 2008 presidential bid.

PhoboQuotable - Andrew Breitbart

"I am not endorsing gay marriage, I'm not endorsing Don't Ask, Don't Tell. I will be the harshest critic of the activist gay left, who I fear more than al-Qaida. But for these people not to exist in a two-party system, for you to tell them they're not welcome in the big tent, I have a huge problem with that and I'm going to indulge in my all '80s Depeche Mode, Cure, New Order fetish and we're going to have a big 'ol gay party at CPAC." - Wingnut commentator Andrew Breitbart, announcing that he has joined GOProud's board of directors.

That's right, folks, GOProud has hired a guy who says that gay activists are worse than the terrorists who brought down the World Trade Center. You can't make it up. Soon to join GOProud: Bryan Fischer, Tony Perkins, Peter LaBarbera.

Quote Of The Day - Andrew Breitbart

"The point is to welcome people into the big tent. I'm working on getting a venue. The first annual Roy Cohn CPAC Breitbart Homocon Welcoming 80's Extravaganza. I'm thinking of DJ-ing." - Wingnut commentator Andrew Breitbart, invoking the name of the most detested self-loathing homosexual in history to describe the party he says he'll throw for GOProud at this year's CPAC.

Breitbart, who says he supports GOProud's inclusion at the event, is using the controversy to ramp up his long-running feud with World Net Daily. We thank him for making the GOProud-Roy Cohn connection.
